Anna Pruitt

Art Therapy Counseling Intern

Anna is a student intern offering Art Therapy counseling services to children, adolescents, and adults. She is passionate about building trusting relationships which empower people to find agency, regulation, and peace amidst their unique life situations. She is client-centered and seeks cultural humility, striving to understand each client within their context. Anna comes from a professional background in inclusion services and recreation-based intervention for individuals with disabilities.

Art Therapy opens the door for communication and processing at the visual and somatic level, rather than solely at the verbal level. Creative expression can be grounding, meditative, and cathartic. Art Therapy is highly adaptable and accessible to all people, regardless of prior experience and comfort with art. Anna typically uses a combination of both art and talk therapy.
