Counselor

John serves adults and couples in areas ranging from anxiety, depression, communication skills and conflict resolution. John also has helped his clients address substance use issues and addictions related to drugs, gambling and pornography. 

He began his career professionally as a teacher and assistant principal where he was a teacher of history and addressed behavioral issues regarding junior high and high school kids at district 187 Cahokia, Illinois.

John was trained as an alcohol & drug counselor and worked for Chestnut Health Systems for approximately two years, focusing on addiction, recovery, and a variety of issues pertaining to mental health.  

John is of Latino dissent and speaks Spanish fluently.  He goes on yearly mission trips to Cuba where he has felt called to serve the people there by using his linguistic and cultural skills to connect with the Latino population and provide support for those in need.

He also has a heart for children in need which has led him and his family to become a licensed foster home where they have been serving children in need for the past four years.
