Before Your First Session
Welcome! We are so very grateful you chose Compass Community Counseling for your mental health needs. If you haven’t already, please fill out our Registration Form, and we will connect you with a counselor as soon as we are able. Once one of our counselors has reached out to you and you have scheduled your first session, please review the information below to help you feel prepared. We want to ensure your first visit is as smooth, comfortable, and stress-free as possible. Here are a few things to note before your first session:
Your First Visit Checklist
To help us get started on time, please complete the following steps prior to your appointment:
Complete Your Intake Forms: Please fill out the intake forms sent to you by your therapist via the Theranest Client Portal. Note: If these are not completed before your appointment, you will need to complete them upon arrival. You may also request a pdf of the forms be emailed to you in advance if you are having trouble accessing the portal.
Add a Payment Method: You can save a payment method on file directly in the client portal or bring your payment method with you to your session (Need help? View the Payment Method Portal Tutorial.)
Provide Insurance Information: If you plan to use insurance, please upload a clear picture of the front and back of your insurance card to the client portal, or bring the card with you to your first visit. (Need help? View the Document Upload Portal Tutorial.)
What to Know Before You Arrive
Location Details: We have two primary offices in Maryville (located at 8 & 16A Professional Park Dr.) as well as three satellite locations across the Metro East. Please double-check the specific address in your text or email reminder to confirm where your appointment will take place.
Arriving for Your Session (Maryville Locations): When you arrive, please have a seat in the lobby. We do not have a formal check-in process. Your therapist will come out to greet you at your scheduled appointment time.
Sessions for Children: If the appointment is for a client 15 years of age or younger, we require a parent or caregiver to remain in the building for the duration of the session.
Payment Information: Payment is due at the conclusion of each session. If you are utilizing insurance benefits, this includes any applicable co-pays.
